The
"San Antonio Film Series"

is a year-long program of screenings and workshops that foster independent film in San Antonio. Through collaborations with the San Antonio Film Commission, local arts and community organizations as well as universities, NALIP-SA will give culturally and economically diverse communities access to independent film in ways that are not presently available. Through celebrating and including filmmakers and audiences of all backgrounds, NALIP will promote the authentic, pan-ethnic diversity that is the real jewel of independent filmmaking. NALIP-SA provides area filmmakers and residents with yearlong activities through three local signature programs:

  • Film Slams
  • Meet the Maker Collaborations
  • The ¡Adelante! Film Forum

The San Antonio Film Slam Series welcomes all to screen their works before an audience-be it a documentary about women rugby players to an experimental piece about grasshoppers and everything in between.  These events celebrate the dynamism of our film community, giving them a critical networking opportunity.

The Meet the Maker collaborations engage cutting edge works by bringing nationally recognized filmmakers to non-profits throughout San Antonio. Working with local filmmakers, curators, and non-profit agencies, NALIP-SA expands the potential audience of our film community while it enters into a dialogue about the creative process.

The ¡Adelante! Film Forum connects local filmmakers to industry experts in an intensive two-day conference. Participants build important relationships and strategize for their next big projects during workshops, mixers, and evening events that promote the craft and business of media making.
