Local student work featured from HARLANDALE, NESA, Saint Mary's Hall, & SAY Sí!

The winners of the 3rd annual Josiah Media Festival were featured on San Antonio on Demand Channel 988 during the month of August through October 2009.

All "ON DEMAND" film view votes are in and Time Warner Cable and The Urban-15 Group will be hosting the award ceremony for Best Narrative, Best Animation, Best Documentary and Best Experimental Film. Check Awards totaling $1500 to be given:

One Student Director Award $500
One School Program Award $400
Three Student Director Awards $200 each

Pocharte Cine

“Watch movies and learn how to make them!”

Brought to you by Pocharte in partnership with Our Lady of the Lake University.

Pocharte Cine is a 6 week course where all ages can learn about film history and vital video production skills. The roles of Latinos in Cinema are emphasized, as well as research techniques and video editing, enabling participants to build unique personal narratives, a fantasy film or oral history. Each class session will feature screenings of classic films as well as a hands-on project that develops and improves movie-making skills. Students are encouraged to bring their own video recorder or digital still camera to class sessions.

This intensive 3-day workshop is right for you, weather you are just beginning, have already shot footage on a documentary project or are seeking finishing funding. "Doing your Doc" is designed especially for media makers in the diverse communities of Texas, preparing you to recieve production funding and apply to national professional programs while developing your unique stories and views.
